My factory assembly line isn't in a dilapidated warehouse on the docks, or in a third world country with underpaid laborers, but fortunately in my shabby studio. Where I can happily toil away, covered in glitter and lace.
Where I can create until my heart's content, oblivious to the struggling world outside my window. Yes, I know it is not being an effective citizen to not see what is going on in the world, but sometimes it is good to escape the daily turmoil and work with beauty instead. I'll bet no one ever told you there is enough beauty in the world, so stop creating more, right?
But I am actually not ignoring the world by glittering pretty things, I am helping it.
"Really?" you say.
Yes, really.
I am trying to do my part by starting a new movement. It's called
"Glitter the World"!
Yes, you heard me right.
Glitter
the
World
(you just wait, I have a call into a couple of really famous Hollywood Big Wigs, to see if they will join the band wagon. Because you know, if Hollywood thinks it's cool, the whole rest of the world will join in! Nobody really cared about lead free paint before Julia Roberts got on board!)
Here's what you can do to join the movement.......
Go
Glitter
Something
Then, give it to someone. Tell them to go glitter something and give it to another someone. Glitter Anything. And Everything.
Until
the
Whole
World
is
Glittered.
How will this help anything in the world you ask?
Well, think about it. If two countries were at odds, do you think if one of the Commanders in Chief sent his enemy a pink sparkly glittered card instead of sending troops in to invade his country, that the enemy would be surprised and happy? A turning point in their relationship perhaps?
Who isn't happy around something glittery?
Ok, so maybe this is a stretch to think that a pink sparkly card could solve the problems of the world, but it's a place to start, right?
Now get busy and go glitter something!
:)
