Whenever asked what my favorite color is, I always answer I don't have a favorite color. That is because I love so many of them, it is hard to choose which is my favorite, and unfair to chose only one, when so many are special.
For right now though, I think I have a favorite color. Soft, pale blue.
Walking through my bedroom, I realized that all my favorite furniture pieces and knick knacks are a beautiful pale blue and muted gold. It seems so elegant and classy, perhaps reminiscent of a bygone era. It reminds me of France and the wonderful ornate rooms in lavish castles that were dripping in gold brocade and wedgewood blue damask.
Of course my life is a little more plain and would call for a room not quite so ornate, but the color combination of the blue and gold still speaks to me.
I found this lovely french dressing table awhile back, and was lucky enough to pick up this chair to go with it at the Farm Chicks show this year.
It's faded blue patina and gold tassle-like trim are just girlie enough yet still elegant.
Besides blue paired with gold, I love it with creams and whites.
It seems very peaceful and relaxing when paired with these soft tones.
Like sky and clouds, fluffy and light.
Soft and serene.
The farmgirl side of me loves the soft blue paired with brown. Rough textures like burlap and cane are softened and romanticized when placed with pale blue hues.
So if you are to ask me what my favorite color is, I would still answer I don't have one. However, it is clear to see, if I did have one, I think it would be this. What is your favorite color?
