I am recooperating from a whirlwind weekend again today! This time it was for my first solo performance at the Funky Junk Sisters Show! What a blast. I have never done an entire booth to myself before, and I must admit I was a little nervous hanging with all the "big dogs" who had done Farm Chicksthe previous weekend. Boy, do these guys really know how to do shows! There were all sorts of fabulous vendors that made the show a huge success. I can't believe I got to be a part of the first show! Debi Ward Kenendy of Retreat Designs gave a fabulous lecture Friday night on design, and of course I had to go and redo my booth after she was done speaking, to go and try and apply her great advice!
I had some much needed help from friends and family. I couldn't have done the show without them! A special shout out to Tammyfor all her help! (Another impromptu pic, since everyone was so busy working, no one had time to take photos!)
I almost couldn't believe my eyes, at 9am, a line started to form outside the building for the show...
My daughter was a huge help on Saturday. She was a trooper. For only 13 years old, she worked her butt off, stood all day, didn't complain (or argue!!) and was very polite to the customers. I was so proud! She even picked out an outfit to wear, that she thought I would like. How great is that? If you have a teenager, you know what a milestone that is!
Here are some pics of my booth.
(Sorry, all the pics are not going to be great, the lighting was very bad, and I had no time to play with camera settings!!)
Saturday morning, I raided the garden to collect fresh roses for flower bouquets for my booth. They were so pretty and romantic, and I loved smelling them all day!
For those of you who read my blog regularly, you may recognize Nadia in these photos.....fear not, she was display ONLY!!!!
Since this was the "Funky Junk" show, I decided to go very eclectic in my booth!
A few antiques, a little vintage,
and even some JUNK!
Prom dresses to airplane propellers and typwriters. I told you it was eclectic!
I got so many compliments on my apron. It is the one that Sandra made for me in our swap. I just adore it!!!
So here's the best part.....the PEOPLE!!
Me and the always fun Kris of Today's Country Store...
My much loved new friends, two of the Funky Junk Sisters, Linda and Dixie. Thanks for such a great show, and so much love and support! I can't wait to do the next show with you girls!
Fellow blogger, the beautiful Lisa Call stopped by my booth! It was so fun to get to meet her!
So excited to see my friends Isabel and Lisa make the drive up for the show!!!
The always fun and vivacious Joy, had to take her picture with my dress form since it said her name!!
Also got to see my bloggy buddies Timi and Laura! (oops, I guess that should be Laura and Timi, since Laura is on the left!) What a sweet surprise!
My good friend Kathy made it to the show, and darn it, we forgot a picture!! Also, my fellow blogger and good customer Rochelle drove all the way from Canada, and darn it if we didn't get a picture either! I am so bummed out!!
I must say, there was one very extra special person, my favorite visitor to the show though. I know I am not supposed to say I have favorites, but she was. Meet Jaiden.....
She is the darling daughter of one of my blog readers, Leah. She came with her mom, dad and brother, and they were the sweetest family, I really enjoyed meeting them. Leah and I of course I think had an instant bond, both being the mothers of special needs children, and Jaiden really made an impression on me! We loved having our photo taken together, and she told me I was her new buddy, of course she is mine too. She left me with the biggest hug, that kept my heart warm all weekend long, so thank you Jaiden. When Mommy shows you this picture of us, it is me saying hello to you, and telling you how nice it was to meet you!!
I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family, and to be able to make connections in this great big world through blogging! Thank you all for sharing in my life's adventures!
Have a great week,
xoxo, Tiffany
