Since I am attending an art event in May called "En Le Jardin", hosted by Jenn, I have been thinking a lot about the flower fairy theme of the retreat. I love to make found object art pieces. What that means is, I like to take items that were not intended to go together, and not used in their original fashion, and mix them together to create a one of a kind piece. Here is the Flower Fairy inspired piece I have been putting together.
I have made it by taking a vintage creamy and perfectly rusted plant hanger, and attached it to a vintage china plate. I added some moss to the bottom, and a foofed up story book doll as my fairy.
Glittered stars and rhinestone accents added the sparkle I was going for.
No project seems complete to me without millinery, especially pink!
She is quite charming, isn't she? My flower fairy....
Here is a view of the entire found object project I am calling "Charming Flower Fairy"
On a side note, I would also like to invite you on over to my new photograpy blog I have started. I started it to show my customers my portfolio, but you may enjoy looking at the photos from time to time. Some you may have seen here on my blog while others are new. I plan on updating it a lot, so drop by for a visit when you can! The new link is in my left sidebar.
OH! And I almost forgot something really important!! Remember a couple of posts back where I shared my apron I recieved from Sandra for our Altered Apron swap?? Well.....it has recently come to my attention that Sandra actually crocheted the pieces on the apron herself!! I already knew she was ultra-talented, but now I am blown away! Thank you so much for all the work you put into my beautiful apron, Sandra!
Have a wonderful day!
