There has been a chain email going around the Silver Bella Yahoo group lately that has been really fun to read. It is one of those generic questionnaires that you are supposed to give really profound answers to so that people might get to know the real you better. For the most part these really are reflective of who the person is, and they are indulgent entertainment to read. One of the questions on this particular questionnaire was "Is there a quote or motto you try to live by?" This was a seemingly easy question to answer, as I have one particular thing I say to myself all the time, and I do live by. The answer came quickly to me and actually without much thought. It wasn't until several replies to the questionnaire later that I actually started to ponder my life's motto and what it has meant to me.
"If Life doesn't get any better than this, I am Happy"
Simple, layman's words I guess, but when I think about it, this phrase has gotten me through many tough days and nights. It really is my credo, my mantra, my realistic optimism that gets me through the day.

I decided to show pictures of my collection of vintage wedding cake toppers with this post, for they symbolize a union between two souls. I have to say, not all marriages or lives are fairy tales, but an ordinary life can be a fairy tale if you make it one. Sure, I have my bad days, where I am bitchy and cranky, just as every women does, but at the end of the day, my life is good. And I am happy. I have made a commitment to myself to be happy. That even if Life doesn't get any better than it is right now, it is great. I CHOOSE to be happy. I WANT to be happy. When I am happy, people around me are happy. I drive a crappy car, wear clothes that I usually buy from garage sales and my trash is overflowing. Some days my house is spotless, some days not. Sometimes my hair looks great, other times weeks go by in a baseball cap. Sometimes my kids drive me nuts, and some days love overflows my heart until I think it can handle no more. My art makes me happy. My dog makes me happy. Pink makes me happy. My husband, even being the dress form misunderstander that he is, loves me and I love him. That makes me happy. These are the simple life pleasures that make my ordinary life my own fairytale. I have no regrets, no last wishes, for I want every day to be the one I remember. Life does not have to be constant excitement, riches and fame. And there is always a silver lining to a cloud if you look close enough.
So I guess my whole point to this post is GO OUT AND BE HAPPY! Find your motto that you can try to live by, or revisit the one you already have and figure out why it is important to you. And maybe you can be inspired again like I have been from something as simple as a chain email......
xoxo, Tiffany
